This handbook tells only about some of the things CSHCN does. Besides
offering the services this handbook tells about, CSHCN does many other
things for many people. This book is for people who have applied to be
CSHCN clients and want CSHCN health care benefits plus related services.
CSHCN is a program that covers the cost of certain services. Services must
be provided by someone who is enrolled with CSHCN as a provider. CSHCN
clients, parents, guardians, and family members should not be billed for
the services CSHCN covers. CSHCN is also the "payor of last resort." That
means if the client has other coverage (such as private insurance) that will
pay for a service, CSHCN will probably not be able to pay.
You can use this book to find answers to your questions about CSHCN. You
can find helpful phone numbers and facts about CSHCN here, too.
