Dr. Jiyoon Yoon is Associate Professor of Science Education and Special Assistant to Dean for Global Initiatives at the University of Texas at Arlington. She received her Ph.D. from Indiana University in Bloomington where she majored in Science Education and Curriculum and Instruction. Her minors are Instructional Systems Technology and Studies of Public Environmental Affairs. Dr. Yoon has participated in extensive science methods research studies and instructional technology projects for pre- and in-service science teachers. She has also established and directed international programs to exchange teaching methods and culture between America and Korea. Dr. Yoon teaches science education methods and research methods courses and is working on nationally-funded research studies. Her research focuses on establishing rich science teaching and learning environments with the aid of technology within a global society.
