The UTA CARES Grant Program, sponsored by UTA Libraries, was established in 2017 to support open education. In 2017, UTA Libraries awarded a UTA CARES Grant totaling $5,000 to Dr. Sharareh Kermanshachi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. The grant supported creation of an OER to replace the commercial textbook previously used in a graduate-level civil engineering course on risk management. Dr. Kermanshachi’s original OER is available at https://sites.google.com/site/constructionmanagement5350/industry-based-risks-1/11111. A Pressbooks version of this OER is forthcoming from Mavs Open Press.
