dc.description.abstract | **Please note that the full video is embargoed** ABSTRACT: Design work from the 2010 spring semester, Studio Martin Price, School of Architecture, The University of Texas at Arlington. Media Arts Centre. Timothy McCutcheon. Reviewers: Douglas Aldridge and Paul Baca. The scheme interfaces with the Mission Station on the LA Metro Light Rail in South Pasadena to bring life to a community by creating a destination, not just a rail stop. The dynamic swooping form which covers the train platforms, folds into the ground to provide spaces for exhibiting digital light paintings and viewer-interactive video installations. A café also joins the composition. Sections of the roof engage an adjacent park, and other sections contain solar panels. Electronic projections on exterior walls can be viewed from moving trains. | en_US |
